Course Overview

This course focuses on the study of the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of children from conception to age five.  Major theorists and their contributions to our understanding of child development are introduced, along with some common methods of study and research.  Students are expected to develop skill in the careful and accurate observation of children, and in the application of the theory of child development.
