ELCC 119-3: Introduction to Play

In this course we will examine the nature, development, and value of play in the lives of children.  Various definitions and theories of play will be discussed. Creating play environments that meet the needs of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children will be a major focus.  Students will prepare, implement and evaluate play experiences.  The role of adults as facilitators of play will be emphasized.
